Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized as AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 receiving rave reviews from bloggers and music critics and the media. Half the World Away from Oasis was released by the group Oasis was recorded to accompany an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is the Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway with her voice, also gave it some more recognition. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to do music just to have fun or for the sake of development but instead, she was encouraged to pursue it. So she started her own compositions. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her favorite writers. Her mother had said that her songs can not only aid in her efforts to gain fame, and also inspire others to see their importance in the world and realize what can be done with the songs She decided to start singing in public. She was suggested by her mother to be able to perform her music publicly in order to help people realize the importance of their work and how they impact the world. Her family didn't hear about her musical journey until she was 14. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. She says she just likes writing songs. According to her, she believes that music can help anyone feel better.
